Naomi Ackie, who portrayed Jannah in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, has addressed the possibility of reprising her role in the upcoming New Jedi Order film.
When asked by ScreenRant if she would return, Ackie playfully responded, “Ask them. Star Wars, get it together! I get a call, we’ll see what happens, I’ll see if I’m free!”

Ackie has previously expressed enthusiasm for further exploring Jannah’s story. In a 2020 interview with Digital Spy, she hinted at the character’s potential for a spin-off, revealing that director J.J. Abrams had shared details about Jannah’s backstory and future that remain untold.
One lingering mystery is whether Jannah is the long-lost daughter of Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams), a theory teased in The Rise of Skywalker. When asked about it, Ackie gave a knowing smile and kept quiet, further fueling speculation.
Set 15 years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker, New Jedi Order will see Daisy Ridley’s Rey training a new generation of Jedi. The film is being written by The Bourne Ultimatum’s George Nolfi and directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.
Meanwhile, another Star Wars project is moving forward with Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy at the helm. Recent reports suggest Ryan Gosling is in talks to star, adding to the growing excitement surrounding the franchise’s future.
