REPORT: Disney Developing "STAR WARS+" Streaming Service with Exclusive Content

Disney is reportedly in the early stages of developing Star Wars+, a dedicated streaming service that would house the complete Star Wars library along with exclusive new content. If the rumors are true, the platform could launch as early as 2026, offering fans an immersive experience unlike anything before.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM STAR WARS+

According to industry insiders, Star Wars+ would consolidate all Star Wars films, animated series, and live-action shows, including hard-to-find content like the original Ewoks movies and even a 4K remaster of The Star Wars Holiday Special—complete with new commentary by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni.

In addition to classic content, Lucasfilm is rumored to be developing exclusive Star Wars+ originals, including:

  • Watto’s Workshop – A reality-style docuseries following the daily operations of the galaxy’s most tenacious junk dealer.

  • The Max Rebo Sessions – A late-night variety show hosted by the legendary blue musician, featuring celebrity guests performing Star Wars-themed covers in Huttese.

  • Tales from the Cantina – An anthology series focusing on the underworld of Tatooine’s Mos Eisley Cantina, described as Star Wars meets Cheers.

SUBSCRIPTION TIERS & PRICING

Perhaps the most surprising detail is the rumored tiered subscription model, which may include:

  • Padawan Tier ($6.99/month) – A rotating selection of classic Star Wars films and series, but with select lightsaber duels edited to be “less intense.”

  • Jedi Knight Tier ($14.99/month) – Full access to all Star Wars films and series, plus behind-the-scenes documentaries and a guided Force meditation playlist narrated by Qui-Gon Jinn.

  • Sith Lord Tier ($29.99/month) – Exclusive content like The Phantom Menace: Dark Side Cut (where Darth Maul wins) and priority access to Disney Parks Star Wars attractions via “Force Skip.”

  • Emperor Tier ($99.99/month) – Includes Star Wars Legends content, an exclusive 24/7 Darth Vader ASMR breathing feed, and the unprecedented ability to vote on canon changes in real time.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR STAR WARS STREAMING

If true, Star Wars+ would mark Disney’s most ambitious effort yet to expand the franchise’s streaming presence. However, without official confirmation, some skeptics believe this could be an elaborate hoax—or at least an idea still in early development.

One thing is certain: whether this becomes reality or remains a fan dream, the Star Wars streaming landscape is about to get a lot more interesting.
