Updated: 7 hours ago

Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) and Lucasfilm are set to unveil Star Wars: Beyond Victory – A Mixed Reality Playset at Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025. Designed exclusively for Meta Quest 3 and 3S, this new game promises to bring the thrill of podracing into players’ homes with cutting-edge mixed reality technology.

Jose Perez III, the game’s director, shared his excitement with StarWars.com:

“Focusing on mixed reality has opened several fascinating doors from an immersion standpoint and allows us to literally bring a galaxy far, far away right into the comfort of the players’ homes in a way that’s unlike anything we’ve done before.”

Set around the time of Solo: A Star Wars Story, Beyond Victory follows fan-favorite podracer Sebulba alongside a new character, Volo Bolus. Players can expect an electrifying story and multiple gameplay modes to experience high-speed racing in the Star Wars universe.

To celebrate the launch, fans attending Star Wars Celebration Japan can claim an exclusive Star Wars: Beyond Victory prequel comic at the ILM and Meta Quest booth.

The game’s presence is just one of several Star Wars gaming showcases at the event. Bit Reactor will host a dedicated panel on its upcoming Star Wars turn-based strategy game, while attendees can also try demos of Vader Immortal and Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge.

Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025 runs from April 18–20 at the Makuhari Messe convention center, with the ILM and Meta Quest activation located at Hall 4, Booth 20-5.
