Nintendo has officially confirmed that Star Wars Outlaws will be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, joining the console’s launch lineup on June 5, 2025. The announcement was made during a recent Nintendo Direct, marking the first time the open-world Star Wars adventure will be available on a Nintendo platform.

Originally released on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, Outlaws follows the exploits of Kay Vess, a rogue scoundrel navigating the galaxy’s criminal underworld. The game received multiple BAFTA Game Award nominations and has been praised for its dynamic storytelling and expansive open-world design.
The Switch 2 release may also hint at the arrival of the game’s final story DLC, A Pirate’s Fortune. The expansion, which features fan-favorite pirate Hondo Ohnaka, was initially expected in spring 2025. However, with no official release date yet, speculation is growing that Ubisoft may launch the DLC alongside the Switch 2 version to capitalize on the console’s buzz.
With the Outlaws development team largely shifting focus to the next entry in The Division series, A Pirate’s Fortune is expected to be the game’s last major content update.
The Switch 2’s increased power makes it the first Nintendo console capable of running Star Wars Outlaws, giving fans a new way to experience Kay Vess’ story. After a rocky initial launch, Ubisoft Massive’s patches and additional content have improved the game’s reception, setting the stage for a much-anticipated arrival on Nintendo’s next-gen system.
